On Wednesday July 7, 2010, HELPsource™ Home Health Care celebrated the winner of our website “Caring Heart” Mother’s Day Contest, Fern Abramson.

Mrs. Abramson was nominated by her daughter (click here to read what she wrote) Ms. Marla Joseph in recognition and appreciation of her Mother’s commitment as family caregiver to her father who had suffered a debilitating stroke in 2004. Since that time, Mrs. Abramson has devoted all of her time to managing her husband’s recovery and continuing care.  

Wednesday was “HER” day. She was escorted to the HELPsource™ Offices where she was applauded for her commitment and was presented with a bouquet of roses. Her “Queen for a Day” treatment continued as she relaxed with a soothing facial compliments of Heaven Spa, also located in the Pavilion at 261 Old York Rd. Jenkintown, Pa. 

While Fern relaxed at Heaven Spa, The Helpsource™ Team was busy upstairs surprising their selection of field caregiver, “Caring Heart” for 2009-2010. Home Health Aide Rosa Sledge received her bouquet of roses and was moved to tears on hearing her selection from a field of more than 150 caregivers.  Rosa’s framed certificate read, “In recognition of your valuable contribution to the mission and vision of HELPsource™ clients and their families… You are a dedicated leader among your peers. 

Fern’s daughter Marla Joseph joined the group as they headed to West Avenue Grille where owner Bob Katz graciously provided a sumptuous lunch for the honorees. Restaurant diners congratulated the winners as Rosa wore her crown and sash all through lunch!

The afternoon closed with a short trip through the Jenkintown Farmer’s Market, held every Wednesday afternoon in the town’s square. We hope Gil Abramson enjoyed those beautiful tomatoes his wife brought home for dinner!!
