Telemedicine

In some cases, the real work of recovery begins when you are discharged from the hospital after experiencing the trauma of an emergency or a surgical procedure.  The elation of coming home is tempered by the realization that expert in-home care is needed for yourself or a loved one.

To augment the compassionate, professional in home care given by our skilled Nurses, Home Health Aides(HHA) and Therapists, we at HELPsource can provide patients with state of the art remote monitoring and medication management equipment, also referred to as tele-medicine or Telemonitoring, as well as personal emergency response systems.  This equipment is directly connected to the HELPsource facility and monitored by trained health care professionals.

The utilization of remote monitoring equipment in the home
is also referred to as Telemedicine.

While these systems may be used together, they can be ordered and set up as three separate systems.  One is strictly a Personal Emergency Response System that when activated alerts paramedics or police or the fire department that there is an emergency requiring immediate attention.

The second is a Vital Sign Monitoring System.  This measures
and monitors predetermined vital signs markers as many as four
times a day.  It identifies abnormal readings as well as recognizes
slowly building patterns that may lead to a potentially dangerous
situation if there is no professional intervention.

The last of these systems is a Medication Monitor that alerts the
individual as to when to take appropriate medications.

Telemedicine and its associated equipment are tools that HELPsource uses to provide professional staff members a way to watch for changes in the patient’s vital signs, manage the administration of medication and with the personal emergency response system, notify the appropriate authorities in case of a health emergency.
